SJL and SEO.
Today SJL Web Design reached page three for the incredibly competitive phrase ‘Web Design’ after only being established for 3 months, this is a momentous achievement.
The phrase ‘web design’ brings back almost 300 million web pages and is searched 2,250,000 times on average each month. We pin point this quick success to using purely white hat SEO techniques, no spamming or unethical codes of practice, which may lead to a site becoming backlisted in Google or Yahoo. We aim to implement SEO onto a website as discreetly as possible, unlike a lot of our competitors who feel the need to cram as many potential keywords into a paragraph as possible, leading to the paragraph making about as much sense as their SEO practices. We believe that your website is ultimately made for humans not search engines, if your SEO firm thinks otherwise they have clearly misinterpreted the fundamentals of internet marketing.
Two examples of bad SEO practices I have seen from a competing SEO firm include: positioning headings at the very top of a site, so they are read first by the search engine, this of course destroys the appearance of the site. The other is to include a large amount of bullet points at the bottom of the website harvesting the companies keywords, which makes no logical sense to the potential clients.
Make sure when choosing an SEO firm or if you are considering optimising your own site, that the process is as nondestructive to your website as possible and the company has a proven track record.
